Professional Background
After two degrees in chemistry from Baylor University and a 10-year career teaching university chemistry, Dr. Sheila decided analyzing “mind” was more important to her than analyzing “matter,” so she returned to school to earn the PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She then gained several years' experience in hospital and clinic practice before joining the psychology faculty at SWTSU in 1975 (renamed Texas State University), where she was designated Distinguished Professor Emerita upon her retirement. She has maintained a small, part-time private practice since 1975. Currently, she also gives lessons and presentations on the Japanese Way of Tea. For more detail, publications, etc., click VITA. |
